Spam

Spam is any form of unsolicited communication sent in bulk. Most often spam is a commercial e-mail sent to a large number of addresses, but spam is also possible via instant messages, texts (SMS), social media and even voice mail. The practice of sending spam – called spamming – is illegal in most jurisdictions.

One of the most common means of spamming is to use botnets to send the spam.
